Immigration Deportation

What is a deportable offense

We are often asked, "What is a deportable offense."

Under the immigration laws, individuals who are not U.S. Citizens are subject to removal and deportation from the United States if they commit a crime. Not all crimes are deportable - it depends on your current status, past crimes, and some discretion of your immigration judge. Generally speaking however felonies, and crimes involving dishonesty may create significant issues for the immigrant including deportation or expulsion.
You must seek the advice of an immigration attorney to properly address the specifics of your situation. Deportation cases are very fact specific and every situation is different.
